Klondike Solitaire: from controls to your first round

Try Klondike Solitaire at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Build four suit foundations from ace to king. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. The example below illustrates a decision.

The playing sequence

1. Build down in alternating colours; kings fill empty columns. Valid ordered runs move together.
2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
3. Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Try this example

A red 6 fits a black 7, not another red 7. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Take a moment to compare.

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Compare the situation with the worked example. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
