Block Puzzle: how a round works

Take a moment with Block Puzzle before moving to another game. Place pieces and clear rows/columns until no offered shape fits. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Place shapes on an 8×8 board and clear full lines. The round ends when none of the current shapes fits.

Practice beyond the first move

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Keep the objective visible.

The goal to keep in mind

Place pieces and clear rows/columns until no offered shape fits. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Take a moment to understand the current position.

The playing sequence

  1. Select a shape.
  2. Select its top-left board position.
  3. Clear full rows and columns.
  4. Use all three offered pieces to receive a new set.

Keyboard and screen controls

Select a piece, then a board cell. Use the control method described here for this activity. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Put the rules into context

One placement can clear both a row and a column. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Read the matching step again.

A common point of confusion

Pieces cannot rotate in this edition. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart.
